Ski Mountaineering at Mondeval

The Mondeval ski mountaineering tour is an ideal choice for intermediate skiers (MS - Medium Skier) looking to enjoy a scenic and safe itinerary in the heart of the Dolomites.

With 800 meters of elevation gain and a duration of 4-5 hours, this tour offers a perfect blend of stunning landscapes and enjoyable skiing.

Itinerary

The ascent starts from Passo Giau, one of the most panoramic spots in the Dolomites, and follows gentle, open slopes, allowing for steady progression without particularly steep sections.

The Mondeval plateau, known for its unique landscapes and the famous archaeological discovery of the so-called "Man of Mondeval", offers breathtaking views of the Tofane, Croda da Lago, and Pelmo.

The descent follows the same route as the ascent, and thanks to its favorable exposure, it often provides perfectly transformed snow, making for smooth and enjoyable skiing. The wide slopes allow skiers to choose between easier or more dynamic lines, depending on their skill level.

Requirements & Safety

Mandatory equipment: Avalanche transceiver (ARTVA), shovel, and probe

Good physical fitness is recommended to handle the elevation gain without excessive fatigue

Guided by a Certified Mountain Guide, ensuring safety and technical learning for greater independence in ski touring
