Marmolada Punta Penia - Overnight stay at the top

Marmolada Punta Penia - Overnight stay at the top

The Marmolada, with its 3343 meters, is the queen of the Dolomites. A coveted peak, that needs no introduction.
The simplest, but not to be underestimated, way to reach Punta Penia is by climbing up the glacier.
To climb across the glacier it is essential to proceed roped together using rope, ice axe and crampons.
This excursion is also suitable for those who have never used a rope, ice axe or crampons but, being well trained, are eager to take their first steps in a spectacular environment.
To reach the top of the Marmolada you have to face a difference in altitude of 1350 meters on the first day and then spend the night at the summit at the Capanna Punta Penia welcomed by Carlo Budel.
Early the next morning (around 6am) we will begin the long descent into the valley.

Upon reservation, it is possible to organize with the Alpine Guide to make the ascent either in a group or privately on days other than those proposed.

Requests?

How do you behave in case of bad weather?

If the Alpine Guide deems that the conditions are adverse, he can cancel or postpone the excursion. In case of cancellation by the Alpine Guide, any deposit will be fully refunded or, in agreement with the client, retained for a possible other date.

I have climbed some via ferratas in the Dolomites, but I have never done such long ascents. Can I manage?

It all depends on your fitness level; 1350 meters of elevation on ice and snow are a lot. Probably the wisest thing is to test your physical condition first with some long mountain hikes.

Is the cost of overnight accommodation at the refuge included in the price?

No, the cost of overnight accommodation is not included. The price includes the guiding service and any rental of missing technical equipment. The guide's expenses are the responsibility of the participants.
