The Marmolada , the Queen of the Dolomites, is also a freeride paradise in the Eastern Alps. With its vast expanses of fresh snow and technical slopes, it offers some of the most spectacular itineraries for off-piste skiing enthusiasts.

During the Freeride Marmolada Paradise , led by Cristiano Gregnanin, Certified mountain guide , we will tackle legendary descents such as Lidia, Intra i Sass, Bellunese and Canyon , tracing perfect lines on the powder of the most iconic mountain in the Dolomites.

This experience is ideal for skiers who want to immerse themselves in alpine freeride , improving their technique on fresh snow and learning to manage the environment safely.

Requirements & equipment

Necessary Requirements:

No vertigo

Ability to walk for several hours uphill

Acclimatization to cold conditions, even intense cold

Ability to descend a black slope safely (no snowplow technique)

Ability to cover at least 300 meters of elevation in 1 hour

Required Gear:

Complete ski mountaineering equipment, including AVRA, shovel, and probe. All gear is available for rent upon prior reservation.

Large backpack (30 liters)

Down jacket

Warm winter pants (but not too heavy)

Technical underwear

Goretex shell jacket

Two pairs of gloves: one light and one heavy

Hat

Sunscreen, lip balm

Sunglasses

Freeride on the Marmolada is an experience for skilled skiers looking to tackle long and spectacular off-piste descents in the heart of the Dolomites. With 5-7 hours of activity, the itinerary includes long descents on fresh snow, sustained slopes, and sections of steep skiing (35°), requiring strong technique and safety management.

Duration: 5-7 hours

Difficulty: BS – Good Skier

Requirements: Ability to ski with control on off-piste snow, tackle steep slopes (35°), and handle varying snow and terrain conditions.

The experience is designed for skiers with good mastery of off-piste skiing, capable of adapting to changing conditions and ready to explore some of the most iconic freeride routes of Marmolada, the Queen of the Dolomites.

Locations and Logistics Details

The meeting point will be agreed upon at the time of booking to optimize travel and facilitate carpooling between participants. If necessary, strategic alternatives can be arranged to make travel more comfortable and efficient.

The exact meeting time will be communicated a few days before the excursion, based on weather and logistical conditions, ensuring the best possible organization.

    Requests?

    How do you behave in case of bad weather?

    If the mountain guide deems that the conditions are adverse, he can cancel or postpone the excursion. In case of cancellation by the mountain guide, any deposit will be fully refunded or, in agreement with the client, retained for a possible other date.

    Will we do a lot of climbing?

    No, we will mostly use the facilities but the days will still be physically demanding.

    I don't have any equipment, is it possible to rent it?

    Yes, it is possible to rent it, you just need to communicate this during the registration phase.

    Do you need a 4x4 to get to the meeting point?

    Generally it is not necessary to have a four-wheel drive car, however since it is a strictly winter activity it is advisable to have winter tires and snow chains on board since you may have to face climbs and descents on snow-covered roads.

    Is the cost of the ski lift ticket included in the price?

    No, the cost of the ski pass is not included in the price.
