Ferrata Ra Pegna e Ra Bujela – Two Routes to Gradually Get Familiar with Via Ferrata Progression

An excellent combination of itineraries for those who want to gain confidence in progressing on equipped routes, starting with an easier ferrata and then moving on to a slightly more challenging one.

Ferrata Ra Pegna: With 150 meters of elevation gain, this is an easy route, perfect for testing your abilities on short vertical sections alternating with easier passages.

Ferrata Ra Bujela: Once you gain confidence, you can continue with the Ferrata Ra Bujela, slightly more technical, with more exposed and vertical passages, but still well-equipped.

Located near Cortina d'Ampezzo, these two ferratas offer a perfect experience for those looking to improve their technique in a spectacular setting.

Total Duration: 3 hours, with the possibility to choose one of the two routes based on your level.

Tackling these ferratas with a Certified Mountain Guide is the best way to learn the correct technique, safely manage the more exposed passages, and gain the confidence needed to take on more challenging routes in the future.

Do I need to know how to climb to do a via ferrata?

A via ferrata allows you to reach the summit even without special climbing skills or mountaineering experience. However, for the more challenging via ferratas a minimum climbing ability is necessary, while for the easier ones no specific prerequisites are required.

Can I climb a via ferrata even if I suffer from vertigo and am afraid of heights?

Generally, trust in the mountain guide and in the technical material used mitigates the fear of heights and voids, however in case of obvious vertigo it is perhaps better to focus on easier activities.
