Freeride course - off-piste skiing

Freeride course - off-piste skiing

Off-piste skiing is becoming increasingly popular, thanks also to new materials that facilitate consistent and aesthetic skiing even in deep snow.

The freeride course is aimed at improving and refining off-piste skiing techniques by learning to manage the various types of snow and the basic techniques for safely skiing.

The course lasts 3 days but longer courses can be organised upon request.

The days are spent using the ski lifts to take us to high altitude and from there, even using sealskins, we go and explore freeride itineraries in the most famous Dolomite massifs.

Requests?

Yes, it is essential to know how to descend black slopes with good technique (no snowploughs)

Do I have to be very fit?

Ski mountaineering is generally a fairly strenuous activity, even for the most basic climbs you need to be in good physical shape and be used to walking uphill for several hours.

I don't have any equipment, is it possible to rent it?

Yes, it is possible to rent it, just book it at least two weeks in advance.

How do you behave in case of bad weather?

If the Alpine Guide deems that the conditions are adverse, he can cancel or postpone the excursion. In case of cancellation by the Alpine Guide, any deposit will be fully refunded or, in agreement with the client, retained for a possible other date.

Do you need a 4x4 to get to the meeting point?

Generally it is not necessary to have a four-wheel drive car, however since it is a strictly winter activity it is advisable to have winter tires and snow chains on board since you may have to face climbs and descents on snow-covered roads.

Who is this course aimed at?

The course is aimed at good skiers who are well-trained both uphill and downhill.

Will we do a lot of climbing?

No, we will mostly use the lifts, but the days will still be physically demanding.

Will the descents be steep?

Not necessarily, in the Dolomites there are hundreds of routes. We will choose those most suitable for the group's level.
