The via ferrata routes of the Dolomites offer a unique experience, allowing you to explore majestic rock walls using cables, ladders, and metal rungs. This course takes place on easy itineraries, ideal for those looking to gain confidence with via ferrata progression in a spectacular environment rich in history.

Level: Easy

Maximum elevation gain: About 600 meters, with sections alternating between approach trails and equipped sections

Average duration: Each excursion lasts between 4 and 6 hours, depending on the route and group pace

Equipment: Helmet, harness, and via ferrata kit (shock absorber with carabiners) provided by the organization or personal

Terrain: Alpine trails, equipped walls with fixed cables, suspension bridges, and metal ladders

What to Expect During the Excursion?

After a technical briefing, you will start with an approach hike on mountain trails, often immersed in breathtaking scenery between pinnacles and Dolomitic spires. The ascent on the via ferrata will allow you to learn the progression technique, correct use of equipment, and management of more exposed sections. The return takes place via scenic trails or equipped return routes.

The Dolomites are the birthplace of via ferrata routes, and this course represents the first step in experiencing the thrill of walking along their spectacular ridges safely and with full awareness.

Locations and Logistics Details

To facilitate logistics, alternative meeting points can be arranged at the time of booking, optimizing travel and sharing the journey.

The meeting time will be communicated a few days in advance, based on weather forecasts, to ensure the best conditions during the activity.

    How do you behave in case of bad weather?

    If the mountain guide deems that the conditions are adverse, he can cancel or postpone the excursion. In case of cancellation by the mountain guide, any deposit will be fully refunded or, in agreement with the client, retained for a possible other date.

    Do I need to know how to double rope and other rope maneuvers?

    No, you don't need any skills, the mountain guide will take care of everything.

    I don't have any equipment, is it possible to rent it?

    Yes, it is possible to rent it, you just need to communicate this during the registration phase.

    Do I need to know how to climb to do a via ferrata?

    A via ferrata allows you to reach the summit even without special climbing skills or mountaineering experience. However, for the more challenging via ferratas a minimum climbing ability is necessary, while for the easier ones no specific prerequisites are required.

    Can I climb a via ferrata even if I suffer from vertigo and am afraid of heights?

    Generally, trust in the mountain guide and in the technical material used mitigates the fear of heights and voids, however in case of obvious vertigo it is perhaps better to focus on easier activities.
